Weekly Chapel

We integrate opportunities for spiritual growth into every part of the week at FCS, helping students grow in their walk with the Lord. Each week, age-appropriate chapel services feature engaging teaching, participatory worship, and messages from God’s Word. In elementary (PreK-5th), students take turns leading worship, guided by older students with words and motions. In secondary (6th-12th), our student-led worship team takes on the responsibility of selecting songs, rehearsing, coordinating tech, and leading worship each week.

As disciples of Jesus, we’re not only called to recognize His authority but also to step into the authority He gives us. We look forward to seeing how God will move throughout the school year as students grow deeper in faith. Everyone is welcome to join us for chapel: Elementary Chapel is on Wednesdays at 8:05 AM, and Secondary Chapel is on Thursdays at 10:00 AM.

Below, you’ll find a deeper look into each of our chapel services and what our students are currently learning as they grow in their faith.

Elementary Chapels

In our elementary chapels, PreK-5th grade students are on a 3-year journey through 104 Bible stories, covering both the Old and New Testaments. This curriculum, The Biggest Story, offers engaging Bible lessons, video teaching, and weekly memory verses. Students who complete their elementary years with us will have gone through the Bible twice, from Genesis to Revelation. Currently, we are in the middle of year two, starting with the story of Esther and exploring God’s plan to save His people. Each story points to Jesus and highlights the beauty of redemption. Parents can also follow along at home through resources like memory cards, storybook videos, and podcasts.

Secondary Chapel

In our secondary chapels, 6th-12th grade students are spending the year exploring why Jesus is so worthy of our worship. We’re delving into various characteristics of Jesus that highlight His kingship and authority. Inspired by the Gospel of Mark and teachings from Timothy Keller’s Jesus the King, we see how Jesus spoke with an authority that astonished His listeners, teaching as the author of life itself. Along with these lessons, we welcome guest pastors, speakers, and musicians to help us deepen our understanding and application of God’s Word.
