Congratulations to our Faith Christian School students for their outstanding achievements in the VFW Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen Writing Contests! Freshman Annie Peterson earned first place and a $100 prize, with her essay advancing to the regional level. Benjamin Grajek took second place, winning $75, and Joey Schluenz placed third, receiving a $50 award. Additionally, Mrs. Bensheimer’s 8th-grade son, Reid Bensheimer, won first place and $75 in the Patriot’s Pen competition.
Under the encouragement of Mrs. Bensheimer, our freshman English teacher, ten students from her class entered the prestigious Voice of Democracy competition, which the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) has held since 1947. This year’s theme, “Is America Today Our Forefathers’ Vision?” challenged students to compose and voice-record a 3-5 minute essay, reflecting on this question.
In recognition of their participation, our students were invited to take part in the Veterans Day Ceremony at Edgewater Park in Williams Bay, where they received acknowledgment for their impressive work. We are proud of all our students for representing Faith Christian School with such dedication and excellence!
