What We Hold Sacred
- We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. II Timothy 3:16-17
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each has distinct roles relating to his creation, and the act of redeeming His creation via the plan of salvation. (Mt. 28:19; II Cor. 13:14)
- We believe in the Personhood of the Holy Spirit, as the Holy Spirit is referred to as a “whom” that can be known, and is equated with God in Acts 5:3-4. As the third part of the Trinity He is God. (Jn. 14:15-17, 25-26, Rom. 5:5)
- We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (Rom. 8:9)
- We believe in the deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His shed blood for the forgiveness of sins, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His visible return in power and glory. We recognize Jesus as both Savior and Lord. (Col 1:13-20, Phil 2:5-11, Rev. 1:17-18).
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and Man. I Timothy 2:5
- We believe that all men are lost and sinful and that salvation is received by the grace of God through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and by the act of regeneration of life by the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 3:23-26, Titus 3:5, Eph 2:8-9)
- We believe in the saving, atoning, and redemptive work that Jesus accomplished through his life, death, and resurrection. As the propitiation for our sin, He assumes our sin debt so we may have eternal life and salvation in His name. God the Father applied Jesus’ righteousness to those who receive Him with repentant hearts. (1 Pet. 2:24, & 3:18, 2 Cor. 5:15- 21, 1 Thes. 5:9-10, Rom. 3:25, & 5:8,10, & 8:1-4, Heb. 10:10, Jn. 1:29 & 3:16-17 & 10:14-18 Isa. 53, Eph. 1:7, & 5:2, Gal. 2:20-21, 1 Tim. 2:5-6)
- We believe that Jesus’ death was voluntary and intentional that He did so out of obedience unto our Heavenly Father and because of God’s love for us personally while we were yet sinners (1 Tim. 2:5-6, Eph. 5:2, Jn. 10:14- 18, Rom. 5:8).
- We believe that salvation is found in Christ alone, “for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). And this salvation is by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9)
- We believe that support and participation in the task of fulfilling the great commission is the responsibility of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Mt. 28:19-20)
- We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit as established in the Bible. (Jn. 17:20- 23; I Cor. 12:12-13)
- We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation. (Jn. 5:24-25, 28-29)
- We believe that the universe originated by the creative act of God as revealed in Holy Scripture, and that the form of every kind of life was fixed at the time of its creation. (Gen. 1:1; Jn. 1:1-3)
- We believe that God created and ordained marriage in the beginning, as a blessing for both man and woman, before sin entered the world, and that He created marriage to be between one man and one woman, who enter into a covenant relationship, complement one another, serve one another, and sanctify one another for as long as they both shall live. Accordingly, we reject any redefinition of marriage. We believe that the homosexual lifestyle and alternative gender identities are contrary to the Bible. (Gen. 1:27-28; 2:15-24; Lev. 18:22; Lev. 20:13a; Mt. 19:4-6; Rom 1:26-27; 1 Cor 7:14)
- We believe that human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all of human life. (Psalm 139)
- We believe in the Gospel as defined by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians chapter 15, and this is the “good news” that the New Testament proclaims, “Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…” (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
- The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Faith Christian School’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Board of Directors is Faith Christian School’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
