The Fine Arts Are Making a Comeback at Faith Christian School!
Faith Christian School has always valued the fine arts, recognizing their essential role in developing well-rounded students. However, in the aftermath of COVID, many of our programs were put on pause as we lost key connections due to retirements and career shifts. But today, we are excited to share that the fine arts has made a wonderful comeback!
This fall, our students had a special opportunity to experience live music when the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra performed in an intimate setting just for us. Students not only listened to a beautiful performance but also had the chance to ask questions and see string instruments up close—an inspiring experience that sparked curiosity and appreciation for orchestral music.
Fine arts education is thriving again across all grade levels. Elementary students continue to receive weekly music and art classes, with multiple performances throughout the year that foster creativity and self-expression from a young age. In secondary, students have fine art options in art classes or choir, allowing them to develop their artistic and vocal talents, perform, and build confidence. We’re also excited to offer individual instrument lessons, giving students a chance to explore their musical gifts further.
In addition to music and theater, we are thrilled to highlight the growth of our visual arts program. Drawing and art classes are providing students with hands-on experiences to develop their artistic skills, explore different mediums, and express their creativity in new ways. These classes encourage imagination, patience, and problem-solving—important skills that benefit students far beyond the art room.
Perhaps most exciting is the return of theater to Faith Christian School! This spring, we will host a high school play, with plans to expand to both fall and spring productions. Theater not only cultivates creativity but also strengthens public speaking skills, teamwork, and perseverance—valuable traits that extend beyond the stage.
Why Are the Fine Arts Important? The fine arts play a crucial role in education, helping students grow in ways that traditional academics cannot. Music, art, drawing, and theater encourage creativity, critical thinking, and emotional expression—all essential skills for success in life. Studies show that students involved in the arts often have higher academic performance, better problem-solving skills, and increased self-confidence. Additionally, the arts foster collaboration and communication, preparing students for future leadership and service.
We are committed to nurturing creativity, expression, and excellence in our students. Your generosity helps these programs thrive—stay connected for more exciting updates on their continued growth! If this is an area you are passionate about, please reach out—we would love to connect.
