Leadership Training

At Faith Christian School, leadership training begins at a young age and grows with our students, providing them with meaningful experiences that build both spiritual and relational maturity. Each year, students are given the opportunity to step away from daily routines, challenge themselves, and develop essential leadership skills. As they progress through school, these leadership trips evolve to offer deeper focus and greater challenges, preparing them to lead with a servant’s heart.

Our youngest students participate in day trips to local Christian camps, where they gain a better understanding of God’s creation and learn to worship Him in response. These trips include outdoor activities that stretch their abilities, guest speakers who share spiritual insights, and small group discussions to encourage personal reflection and growth.

As students advance in age, the trips become more focused and extend to overnight stays. By 8th grade, they embark on a 3-day trip to reflect on God’s work in their lives and prepare for the transition to high school. Freshmen leadership trips emphasize team-building, helping students understand their unique gifts and callings.

Sophomores and juniors are challenged to consider their influence and legacy during a 3-day retreat at a Christian camp. These trips encourage them to reflect on how they can lead and serve in their communities. Finally, seniors experience a week-long adventure in northern Arizona, exploring God’s creation through activities like touring the Grand Canyon, studying evidence of ancient people groups, and partnering with Christian ministries in the area.

Each leadership trip is designed to build upon the last, equipping students to LEAD—both among their peers and beyond, as they step into their homes, communities, and future workplaces. Through these opportunities, our goal is to prepare students to become Christ-like leaders wherever God calls them.

LEADERSHIP TRIPS 2024

We believe it’s incredibly valuable to step away from daily routines to listen to God, reflect on His work in our lives, and strengthen the bonds between students and teachers. These trips allow students to grow spiritually, relationally, and in leadership, all while stepping out of their comfort zones. Here’s a recap of the trips we’ve kicked off this year with:

Elementary Leadership Day at Covenant Harbor
After getting settled into the school year, our PreK-5th grade students took a break to spend a day at Covenant Harbor in Lake Geneva. The day was filled with exploration, fun activities, and team-building exercises that encouraged them to work together as a class. Through two impactful chapel sessions, our students were challenged to connect with God and learn how He is constantly connecting with us. It was a day of spiritual growth and bonding that our elementary students will remember fondly!

9th Grade Leadership Day at Covenant Harbor
Our 9th graders kicked off their high school journey with a day at Covenant Harbor focused on team building and community building. Since many students are new to FCS at this point, the day offered the perfect opportunity for them to bond and face challenges together, especially through the high and low ropes courses. The goal was to help these students grow as a class and prepare them for the next phase of their FCS experience by developing trust and collaboration.

10th-11th Grade Leadership Trip to Living Waters Bible Camp
Our 10th and 11th grade students spent three days at Living Waters Bible Camp, where they were stretched physically, spiritually, and emotionally. The 10th graders focused on personal growth and teamwork, cooking meals over a fire and staying in covered wagons. Meanwhile, the 11th graders began stepping into leadership roles, guiding the 10th graders in some activities and challenging themselves with paintball and a giant swing. Both grades also participated in a service project at the camp, learning the importance of servant leadership. It was an unforgettable trip full of growth and bonding for both grades.

12th Grade Leadership Day
The senior leadership journey kicked off with a meaningful day designed to set the tone for their final year at FCS. The day began with a senior breakfast, focusing on legacy and servant leadership. Afterward, the seniors headed to Camp Timber-Lee for team-building activities and personal reflection, considering the impact they will have as they lead and serve throughout the year.

The day concluded with a service project back at school, marking the beginning of a year dedicated to service. This trip is just the start of their senior journey, which will later culminate in a longer, week-long adventure in northern Arizona. During that final trip, they will reflect on their time at FCS while exploring God’s creation, including the Grand Canyon, and partnering with Christian ministries to celebrate all they’ve accomplished.
